WEBINAR- Best Practices for Procurement of Construction and Rehabilitation Services

As the majority of SHIP funds must be spent on construction and rehabilitation activities, local governments must often partner with contractors that have the skills and expertise needed to implement housing rehabilitation and construction projects. This webinar will provide guidance to local governments on advertising their programs to solicit contractors, screening contractors to make sure they have the necessary licenses and qualifications, establishing and maintaining a contractors pool, using local businesses and contracting with small, minority owned and women-owned businesses, and addressing challenges in getting contractors to participate in government-funded housing programs while adhering to the program’s policies and procedures.
