WEBINAR- Implementing Effective Rental Assistance Programs with Federal and State Resources

Many communities have been given a remarkable opportunity to respond to COVID-19 through rental assistance. This great opportunity also presents challenges in that, in order to administer an effective rental assistance program, there must be a coordinated community response. This webinar offers participants an opportunity to review the federal and state funding sources available to their community for rental assistance, including funding specific to COVID-19. Presenters will review how these funding sources are traditionally used and in what ways the funding can be used differently to respond to COVID-19. The training will have a special focus on considerations for prioritizing households for assistance and designing financial subsidy strategies. Participants will learn about leveraging other sources of state funding for rental assistance that are unique to Florida, like SHIP and Challenge Grant. The audience for this webinar comprises local government housing departments, Continuum of Care lead agencies, nonprofit organizations, advocates, and philanthropy.
