This training is part of the Models for Affordable Housing webinar series. Accessory dwelling units, also called granny flats, mother-in-law suites, and carriage houses, can be a smart growth tool for affordable housing and is a housing type supported by the Florida Legislature. Presenters will explain how local governments can ease barriers to ADU development and discuss how to develop ADUs as infill units for lower-income renters and family members. Coalition staff will provide a strategy as part of this training that may be used for SHIP-funded ADU development.
