As private financing for multifamily projects becomes more and more difficult to secure, the HUD 221d program and Agency financing through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac may be just what you need to get your development off the ground. These financing programs can be used to acquire and renovate or refinance and renovate properties with or without project-based rental assistance. We’ll look at some case studies, talk about FHA’s pilot program to streamline renovations on preservation deals, learn about program regulations and discuss the application and underwriting processes.
