The Catalyst in-person meetings such as site visits and workshops will not be held between now and May. We are currently working with FHFC on specifics and will quickly announce alternatives.

WEBINAR- COVID-19 SHIP Rent Assistance Implementation

This webinar builds upon an April 2 training on establishing a SHIP rental assistance program along with the May 13 webinar on “Implementing and Administering Effective Rental Assistance Programs”. While the May 13 training will help SHIP staff understand how to leverage federal and state funding to create a rental assistance program with a coordinated approach, this May 18 webinar delves deeper into SHIP implementation topics. Participants will hear from SHIP communities that have started providing assistance. Presenters will discuss program policies like prioritization, award amount, outreach and more. Learn about next steps involved with processing applications, like using self-certification and applicant-provided documents to confirm income eligibility. The training covers documentation to collect and the process for paying the landlord and the utility company. The training will also offer updates on eviction moratoria and other tenant legal protections.
