The Florida Housing Coalition partnered with the United Way of Florida to share the November 12, 2014, release of the United Way’s ALICE Report: Florida, conducted by Rutgers University.  ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed individuals and families of all ages and races. ALICE was created to give a comprehensive illustration of the financial challenges of this population in Florida and each county.

ALICE is an important part of your local community’s constituency, and represented a third of the voters in the 2012 Presidential election.  The Florida Housing Coalition and the United Way of Florida hosted a free one hour webinar briefing designed especially for housing advocates and partners. The webinar provides more details of the ALICE Report, an explanation of the data (including county and municipal housing data), and information on how to use the report and key findings in your local community to speak with your elected officials about who is struggling and why more housing resources are needed.
